How we can Help

Polynucleotides are one of the most exciting advances in skin rejuvenation — a regenerative treatment that works with your body’s own biology to repair and renew the skin from the inside out.

Delivered as tiny micro-injections, polynucleotides activate tired, ageing cells and encourage the skin to repair itself, boosting collagen and elastin and improving overall skin quality. Rather than simply filling or plumping, they genuinely improve the condition of the skin, for natural, healthy-looking results that build over time.

They’re especially well known for rejuvenating the delicate under-eye area, but can also be used across the face, neck, décolletage, hands and more. At Helen Hunt Medical Aesthetics, every treatment begins with a consultation, and a numbing cream keeps you comfortable throughout — so you’re always in safe, expert hands.

FAQs

Polynucleotides can be used for those experiencing ageing, dehydrated, and thinning skin, and also for younger skin to promote healthy glowing skin and prevent the formation of fine lines and wrinkles. Polynucleotides regenerates your body’s cell turnover to improve hydration, elasticity and texture, as well as assisting in smoothing fine lines and wrinkles. Please note it is not suitable for vegans, vegetarians or those with fish allergies.

Polynucleotides can be used to treat the whole face or can target a specific area such as under eye circles and tear trough. It is also perfect for rejuvenation of the neck, décolletage, hands, arms and tummy. It can be used to treat hair loss and thinning hair, and reduces scarring so is particularly helpful for patients with acne scars.

Polynucleotides (Plenhyage XL) consists of purified polymerised polynucleotides injected directly into the skin to stimulate internal renewal. As polynucleotides are biological molecules used to regenerate the body’s own cells, there is no risk of the body rejecting or reacting negatively to the treatment.

A course of three or four treatments is recommended, separated by a 3–4 week interval, for optimum results.

Results will be visible after your first treatment and will continue to improve with subsequent sessions. The skin develops a better colour, is less creased, better hydrated and becomes more supple. Gradually, from one session to the next, the complexion looks increasingly radiant and the skin becomes firmer. Acne scars reduce and hair follicles are stimulated.

To ensure your comfort, a local anaesthetic cream will be applied prior to treatment.

Results are cumulative so continuing improvement is expected. A maintenance treatment every 6 months is recommended to sustain your results.

A session consists of intra or hypodermic micro-injections given with a fine needle of very small quantities of Polynucleotides, placed along lines of wrinkles and evenly spread over the surface of the area being treated. A cannula (blunt needle) may also be used to treat larger areas of the body.

Some redness may be present immediately after the treatment, which may persist for 2–3 days following the session. Most patients are able to resume normal activities soon after.
