How we can Help

Living with chronic migraine can be exhausting and isolating — affecting work, family life and your wellbeing. If you experience frequent, debilitating migraines, there is a preventative treatment that may help to reduce how often they happen.

We use anti-wrinkle injections (botulinum toxin), which were approved by the UK medicines regulator (MHRA) in 2010 as a preventative treatment for chronic migraine. In clinical trials, nearly 70% of patients experienced a 50% reduction in migraine frequency within a year. The treatment involves a series of small injections across the forehead, scalp and neck, with the dosing and placement tailored to your symptoms.

At Helen Hunt Medical Aesthetics, this treatment is carried out by experienced medical professionals as part of a considered, supportive plan. We’ll take time to understand your history and symptoms, and guide you on whether it’s the right option for you.

This treatment is available only for patients with a confirmed diagnosis of chronic migraine from a medical professional — that is, those who have already had a CT scan and/or seen a neurologist. If you experience severe, worrying or persistent headaches, please always consult your GP first for advice and investigation.
