Reduces the appearance of spider and thread veins on the legs.
A simple, straightforward treatment with little disruption to your day.
Helps you feel comfortable and confident showing off your legs again.
Microsclerotherapy is a minimally invasive treatment designed to reduce the appearance of spider veins (thread veins) on the legs. It’s a popular, straightforward option for anyone who’d like clearer, more even-looking skin.
During the treatment, a fine needle is used to inject a specialist solution directly into the visible veins. This causes them to gently collapse and gradually fade from view over the following weeks, leaving the legs looking clearer and more evenly toned.
Minimally invasive and well-tolerated, microsclerotherapy allows for a quick, easy recovery. Every treatment begins with a consultation to assess your veins and make sure it’s the right approach for you, carried out by Helen Hunt RGN INP or our experienced Level 7 qualified practitioners — so you’re in safe, expert hands.

Small, red, blue or purple veins visible just beneath the skin surface — the primary focus of microsclerotherapy treatment.
Fine, web-like veins that spread across the legs and can be effectively reduced with targeted sclerotherapy injections.
Dilated or broken blood vessels on the legs that cause visible discolouration and can be safely treated with this procedure.
Patches of redness or blotchy colouring caused by visible veins, leaving legs with a clearer, more even appearance after treatment.
Groups of small veins appearing together on the legs, which can be addressed in a single treatment session depending on extent.
Maintaining results over time with follow-up sessions, as new veins may develop due to individual factors and lifestyle.
Microsclerotherapy is suitable for patients with visible spider veins on the legs who desire a non surgical approach to vein treatment. It is ideal for those who want a minimally invasive procedure with minimal downtime. It is not suitable for those with larger varicose veins, certain vascular conditions, or those who are pregnant.
Microsclerotherapy is a safe treatment with minimal risks. The solution used in the injection is designed to seal off unwanted veins safely, and all procedures are carried out by medically trained professionals. However, as with any procedure, there are small risks of side effects, including minor bruising, redness, or itching at the injection site, which typically subside within a few days.
The number of treatments depends on the extent of your spider veins. During your consultation, we’ll assess your veins and recommend a personalised treatment plan. Many patients see significant improvement after just one or two sessions, though some may require additional treatments for optimal results.
You may begin to notice results within a few weeks after your first treatment, as the treated veins gradually fade.
Microsclerotherapy is generally well tolerated. Some patients may experience mild discomfort during the injection, but this is brief.
Results from microsclerotherapy are long lasting for treated veins. However, new veins may form over time, so maintenance treatments may be needed in the future, depending on individual factors and lifestyle.
During the treatment, a fine needle is used to inject the solution into each visible vein, causing it to collapse and fade over time. The treatment typically lasts 30–60 minutes, depending on the extent of the vein area being treated. After the treatment, compression stockings will be given to you to support healing.
Yes, microsclerotherapy has minimal downtime, and you can typically resume normal activities immediately after treatment. Some redness or mild bruising may occur at the treatment sites, but these effects usually resolve within a few days. Avoid flying for at least two weeks after on flights shorter than 2–3 hours, and for at least four weeks for flights longer than 4 hours.
