What is Hyperidrosis?
Hyperhidrosis is excessive sweating that goes beyond what the body actually needs to regulate its temperature. It most often affects the underarms, hands, feet or face, and it can happen regardless of the weather, how active you are, or how relaxed you feel. It’s far more common than many people realise, but because it’s rarely talked about, a lot of people quietly assume they just have to live with it. You don’t.
For those who experience it, hyperhidrosis can be genuinely distressing day to day. It might mean changing clothes more than once a day, avoiding certain fabrics or colours, feeling self-conscious, shaking hands, or holding back in social and work situations. The impact is as much emotional as physical, and it’s something we understand and take seriously.
The good news is that a simple, well-established treatment can make a real difference. By using tiny injections into the affected area, we can calm the overactive sweat glands and significantly reduce sweating — often for several months at a time. It’s a quick, straightforward treatment with little to no downtime, and for many people, the relief and boost in confidence are life-changing.
During your consultation, we’ll talk through your symptoms and how they affect you, check that the treatment is right for you, and plan the best approach. Where appropriate, we’ll also make sure there’s nothing else that ought to be looked into, so you feel fully reassured every step of the way.
