What a week!
April 2026 was a particularly exciting month for me. I had the privilege of attending two outstanding UK aesthetic nursing events: Wigmore Presents 2026 in London and the BAMAN South West Regional Meeting in Devon. These conferences brought together aesthetic practitioners from across the country to explore the very latest in cosmetic medicine, patient safety and clinical practice – and they reminded me exactly why I love being part of this incredible community.
Wigmore Presents 2026 – Royal College of Physicians, London (17th–19th April)
I was absolutely thrilled to attend Wigmore Presents 2026 at the iconic Royal College of Physicians in London. This three-day event is one of the most anticipated conferences in the aesthetic calendar, and this year it truly delivered. With seven dedicated agendas packed full of expert-led talks, clinical insights and practical education, there was something genuinely invaluable for every practitioner in the room.
What struck me most was the sheer breadth and quality of the content on offer – the level of education was exceptional, and I came away buzzing with new ideas and inspired by the incredible innovation happening across our speciality. I also had the pleasure of meeting some wonderful people, including the talented Tracey Jones, a Senior Lecturer in Nursing and NMC Registered Nurse with over 30 years’ experience – an inspiring professional whose knowledge and passion for the nursing profession is truly remarkable.
Of course, the learning didn’t stop when the last session finished. The Saturday evening networking event was a fantastic opportunity to connect with colleagues, share experiences, and enjoy a well-deserved celebration of everything this amazing community has to offer.
Attending Wigmore Presents and collecting my CPD certificate was a timely reminder of why continuous professional development matters so much – staying at the forefront of evidence-based practice and bringing the very best knowledge back to my patients here at Helen Hunt Aesthetics.
BAMAN South West Peninsular Regional Meeting – Devon Conference Centre, Honiton (Monday 20th April)
The very next day, it was straight back to the South West for the BAMAN (British Association of Medical Aesthetic Nurses) Regional Meeting, held at the beautiful Devon Conference Centre at Wessington Farm in Honiton.
As a BAMAN Regional Leader for the South West, alongside my co-leader Gaynor Hughes and BAMAN CEO Gareth Lewis, I had the honour of helping to organise and host this fantastic event for our members. We were delighted to welcome 20–25 dedicated nurses from across the region, all committed to advancing their knowledge and professional practice. The day featured some outstanding presentations. Elizabeth Hatherley delivered an excellent and clinically relevant talk on acne and prescribing isotretinoin – a hugely important topic for aesthetic nurses working with patients dealing with skin concerns. The quality of education was fantastic, and there were some really thought-provoking Q&A discussions. We were also incredibly fortunate to welcome Tracey Jones, who joined us virtually via Zoom to deliver her presentation on Delegation and Regulatory Considerations – a topic that couldn’t be more relevant for aesthetic nursing practice today. Tracey is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, an independent prescriber and published author, and her insights were genuinely invaluable.
I also had the privilege of presenting a patient case study on Full Face Rejuvenation – sharing a patient journey and the transformative results that thoughtful, holistic aesthetic treatment can achieve. It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase the work we do here at Helen Hunt Aesthetics and to inspire fellow practitioners with what’s possible.
Final Thoughts
Two events, and a wealth of knowledge, connection and inspiration to bring back to my practice. This is why continuing professional development matters – not just for the CPD points, but for the energy, ideas and community it creates. A huge thank you to the teams at Wigmore Medical and BAMAN for organising such incredible events, and to every practitioner who took the time to attend, learn and contribute to our wonderful profession.
If you’d like to know more about any of the topics covered, or would like to discuss your own aesthetic journey, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
With love,
Helen
