Treatment for Teeth Grinding
We use the Botox® brand to help with Teeth Grinding
A common issue we see at Helen Hunt Aesthetics is Bruxism, otherwise known as the unconscious clenching or grinding of the teeth. The exact cause of teeth grinding is not completely understood and there are numerous different theories. However, there is a link to sleep apnoea, jaw posture positions, tooth position, dental work, abnormal bite, trauma, repetitive strain, lifestyle activities, as well as emotional & developmental issues.

How do Anti-Wrinkle injections help with teeth grinding?
At Helen Hunt Aesthetics we treat the masseter muscle with anti wrinkle injections, which blocks the nerve signals resulting the muscle no longer being able to contract as tightly. Therefore stopping the involuntary grinding of the teeth and clenching of the jaw. As a consequence, the treatment causes the size of the muscle to reduce and creates a softer angle of the jaw and a slimmer more oval face shape.
An effective treatment for reducing asymmetric or prominent jawline, the procedure has no downtime and patients usually notice softening of the masseter muscle after 1 week with a slimmed jawline at around 6-8 weeks.
We always aim for a soft natural look which allows us to achieve relief from teeth grinding whilst still maintaining your normal facial expression.
